Italy: Liquors and spirits import volume by type

In 2020, Italy imported liquors, spirits, and other alcoholic beverages for a total of just under 705 thousand hectoliters of anhydrous alcohol. An hectoliter of anhydrous alcohol is called ettanidro, an Italian unit of alcohol measurement which corresponds to 100 liters of pure alcohol, that is “anhydrous". According to the data, the volume of imported rum and tafia reached almost 259 thousand hectoliters of anhydrous alcohol, whereas the import volume of piquette and other fermented beverages added up to 179 thousand hectoliters of anhydrous alcohol.
