In 2022, Ghana produced 25.6 million metric tons of cassava, which was an increase in volume compared to 25 million metric tons in the previous year. The quantity of cassava produced in the country has increased since 2009. Furthermore, cassava is a very important root crop in Ghana, as it is the base for many staple foods and one of the major contributors to the country's agricultural Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
