Between the end of January and the end of February 2022, the instant messaging app Telegram was downloaded 506 thousand times in Ukraine and 2.3 million times in Russia. Between the end of February and the 20th of March, downloads of the popular chat app experienced an increase. In Ukraine, Telegram was downloaded nearly one million times, up by 88 percent compared to the previously measured period.
