Due to travel restrictions relating to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the number of travel and tourism jobs in the United States decreased by 7.6 percent from 2019 to 2022. In 2022, the travel and tourism industry contributed roughly 16.2 million jobs to the U.S. economy.
