Best-selling SUV/crossover models in Canada Q4 2021
The Toyota RAV4 was Canada's best-selling SUV/crossover model in the fourth quarter of 2021 with sales of around 9,105 units. RAV4 unit sales dropped by 68 percent compared with the 2020 level. The general Canadian auto market remained smaller than usual throughout 2020 amid the coronavirus pandemic. The most notable outlier in this data set is the Ford Explorer: 220 units more of Ford Explorer were sold in the Q4 2021 even though there was a significant decrease in sales for all other SUV/crossover models. A possible explanation is that a sixth-generation variant of the Ford Explorer became available in 2019.
