In 2019, Lombardy counted the largest number of births in Italy (over 70 thousand). Campania and Lazio followed, with about 47 thousand and 41 thousand births, respectively. On the contrary, Aosta Valley recorded the lowest number of children born during 2019.
The data shows the number of infants born from residents within the municipality, regardless of actual birth place. It therefore excludes infants born in Italy from non-resident parents.
