Energy production source in Germany in 2022 and 2023

In 2023, roughly two exajoules of primary energy were obtained from renewable energy sources, making them the largest supplier of domestically produced energy in Germany.  Lignite followed as the second-largest contributor, providing around1.2 exajoules of primary energy. However, in the primary energy consumption mix, fossil fuels still account for the largest share.
