In 2017, over 58 percent of employees in Japan felt strongly troubled in their current working situation, down from 59.5 percent in the previous year. Figures for employees feeling severely insecure and stressed within their working environment peaked in 1997, reaching almost 63 percent. Thereafter, figures started to decline slowly until rising again in 2015.
