There was some gradation in how helpful these disciplines would be among those who thought that science and tech would be a boon to addressing future issues. Forty-three percent of respondents said that science and technology will be instrumental in addressing the future’s issues. While about 44 percent believed that science and technology would be only somewhat helpful.
Americans entrusted more faith in science and tech’s positive problem-solving capabilities than in religious groups. Only about six in ten respondents believed that religious groups would be able to solve the problems of the future, while 87 percent of respondents believed science and technology could be positive problem-solving influence.
