In order to build hype for their newest releases, video gaming developers and publishers often host live events which are streamed online to millions of avid gamers. Sony's PlayStation 5 reveal event in June 2020 attracted over 1.5 million viewers per minute on the online streaming platform Twitch. The next generation console is due to be released for the holiday season in 2020 and is already forecast to sell millions of units worldwide.
