U.S. top multivitamin brands based on sales 2019

The U.S. multivitamin market is made up of several highly competitive brands. Although private label multivitamins generated the highest level of sales in 2019, at around 315 million U.S. dollars; Bausch & Lomb Preservision and Centrum Silver are the top selling name brand multivitamins, with sales of 194.7 million U.S. dollars, and 164.5 million U.S. dollars, respectively.


Centrum Silver is the second leading name brand of multivitamins in terms of sales. Whereas Bausch & Lomb is primarily an eye care brand, Centrum has made its name as a producer of vitamins. Centrum manufactures a variety of age and gender-based vitamins, as well as probiotics. According to Centrum’s website, Centrum Silver is specially formulated for adults over the age of 50. Centrum is owned by Pfizer, which is the leading pharmaceutical company worldwide based on revenue.

Multivitamin Consumption in the U.S.

Sales of so called “nutraceuticals”, which include dietary supplements and functional foods, are expected to increase significantly over the next decade. The types of vitamins with the highest levels of penetration in the U.S. market are adult multivitamins, Vitamin D, and Vitamin C. The value of gummy vitamins market in the United States was about 2.68 billion U.S. dollars in 2016 and is expected to grow to 4.17 billion dollars by 2025.
