E-commerce revenue in Spain 2011-2023, by quarter
After years of continuous growth, e-commerce revenues in Spain fell during the first half of 2020. From the 11.5 billion euros generated in the final quarter of 2019, revenues from online sales of products and services witnessed a 15 percent decrease in the subsequent six months within the Iberian country. This decline can be primarily attributed to the prolonged disruption of numerous activities caused by the coronavirus pandemic. Nevertheless, upon the lifting of restrictions against COVID-19, the Spanish e-commerce sector exhibited a swift recovery. By mid-2023, the industry had not only rebounded, but also surpassed the 17 billion euros milestone.
