In 2022, the largest fintech deal in Canada and the United States was the buyout of Avalara, a software for automated tax compliance, with a transaction value of 8.4 billion U.S. dollars. It was followed by the buyout of Bottomline Technologies, with a deal value of 2.6 billion U.S. dollars. The transaction value of the largest fintech deal in 2022 was significantly higher than that of 2021: The buyout deal of Adenza in 2021 was valued at approximately 3.75 billion U.S. dollars.
