Jamaica: industry & innovation development goal performance 2019, by indicator
The ninth objective of the global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) created by the United Nations for 2030 was named industry, innovation, and infrastructure. With 0.05 scientific or technical articles indexed in journals per one thousand people as of 2019, Jamaica had a lot of room for improvement in this area. The penetration of internet and mobile broadband usage among its population was at nearly 50 percent. The average download speed for the Caribbean country's internet in 2019 was 9.08 Megabits per second (Mbps), an increase from 8.25 Mpbs reported a year prior.
