Share of renewables in primary energy supply in Uruguay 2010-2020
Throughout the past decade, renewable sources have accounted for at least half of the primary energy supply in Uruguay. In 2020, the South American country's contribution of renewables in the primary energy supply amounted to around 61 percent, down from over 83 percent in 2017, when the highest share of renewables supply was registered due to exceptionally low oil imports that year. In 2019, biomass was the main source of primary energy in the South American country.
