Since 2011, Coca-Cola’s global energy use has fluctuated slightly, but has remained at around 60 billion megajoules annually. The energy usage in 2020 was the lowest of the past decade, at about 58.9 billion megajoules. It increased in the following years to over 65 billion megajoules in 2022.

Coca-Cola’s global brand

Coca-Cola is the most valuable soft drink brand in the world with a brand value of roughly 98 billion U.S. dollars and sells its products in over 200 countries. The company reached a global net operating revenue of approximately 43 billion U.S. dollars in 2022.

Brand sustainability

Coca-Cola was ranked among the top five most sustainable consumer goods companies in 2020 in the United States. The company uses a mix of packaging materials, but about 47 percent of all their packaging is PET plastic, a sustainable and recyclable type of clear plastic. The company has also announced a large number of ambitious sustainability goals, like recycling as many bottles and cans as the company produces by the year 2030.
