General Managers earned an average of 85,000 British pounds, with the potential to earn a maximum of 200,000 British pounds. General Manager was also the highest-earning position in the ranking, followed by Executive Chef and Operations Manager, both with an average salary of 60,000 and 50,000 British pounds.
The London hotel market was made up of around 1,500 hotels in 2015, making it an important employer for the city. In 2016 direct employment in the hotel and accommodation industry across the United Kingdom was said to be around 512,000.

Salaries in London’s workforce tend to be higher than the national average. Across the United Kingdom, the average mean gross salary of full time workers in hotels and similar accommodation was valued at 18,549 British pounds a year in 2017. The lowest average salaries for hotel workers in London are for the occupations of Duty Manager, Head Receptionist, Shift Leader and Commis Chef. Aside from Commis Chef, all other roles in London have an average or maximum salary above the national hotel workforce average.
