The share of individuals who used Twitter in Sweden fluctuated over the period between 2011 and 2020. Starting from eight percent of users in 2011, the share of Twitter users increased to 24 percent in Q3 2020. The Twitter usage rate peaked in 2017, when 25 percent of the interviewed Swedes reported to be using the platform. In general, social media usage became more popular over the past decade. In 2010, there were 53 percent social media users and in Q3 2020, there were 89 percent.
