During a late 2019 analysis of 50 content-focused Alexa sites using display advertising it was found that 58 percent of sites in the sample were not yet using native advertising. Native or sponsored content ads are meant to be less obtrusive and more relevant than regular display ads, and some 42 percent of studied sites were using some form of such advertising.
