Brazil: share of deforested area in the Amazon 1988-2019, by state

Between 1988 and 2019, the deforested area of the Brazilian Amazon surpassed 446 thousand square kilometers, of which over 34 percent occurred in the Brazilian state of Pará. Mato Grosso was the second state with the highest share of deforestation, at almost 33 percent, followed by Rondônia, with roughly 14 percent.
