This statistic displays the total number of individuals employed at banks across the 28 European countries as of December 31st, 2018. Overall, as of the end of 2018 there were nearly 2.67 million individuals working at banks across Europe. Germany employed 21 percent of all banking staff with a total of approximately 565 thousand. France and the United Kingdom (UK) banks had the next highest employment figures with 409 thousand and 370 thousand individuals respectively.
