The gender pay gap is a well-known and unwelcome phenomena in most industries. While this social problem is rather more serious in jobs and professions where an 18% difference in pay can mean a lot in terms of quality of life, the gender gap is also alive and kicking in the film industry.
As the graphic below illustrates, the top earning male actors raked in significantly more cash than the most financially successful women. At the top of the pile was Hollywood juggernaut, Dwayne Johnson. His 64 million U.S. dollars cast a rather large shadow over The Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence's 46 million.
