A private label is a commercial brand for a product whose characteristics have been defined by the company or group of companies that retail the product and that owns the brand under which it is sold. On average, organic private labels accounted for 6.6 percent of the private label sales of French retailers in 2020. More than 16 percent of Monoprix's private label sales were referenced under the AB (Agriculture biologique) label.
