During a survey conducted in France, Germany, the United Kingdom, and the United States in September 2021, little more than two-thirds (67 percent) of responding adults said they either agreed or strongly agreed that they were more likely to trust a business in their community than one only on the internet. The remaining third of respondents expressed neutrality or disagreement with that statement. More than four out of five consumers surveyed also said it was important to trust the businesses they bought from.
