The American tech company's FoA includes well-established platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and WhatsApp. Reality Labs, which includes Meta’s augmented and virtual reality products, generated just over two billion U.S. dollars in 2022.

In fact, 113.6 billion U.S. dollars were made in ad revenues across Meta’s platforms, accounting for approximately 97 percent of all profits. Additionally, 2021 saw a record annual revenue of almost 118 billion U.S. dollars, followed by decline in 2022 - an unwelcome first for the company which has only ever seen year-on-year growth in revenues since 2009.
