The number of e-commerce stores in Poland is increasing year by year. It amounted to nearly 66 thousand in 2023, a 14 percent increase compared to the previous year. Several factors contribute to this situation. Increasing access to the internet has a significant impact on the development of e-commerce in Poland. The number of internet users since 2016 has increased by nearly five million people, which allows more people to access the internet sales market. The second important factor was the introduction of a Sunday trading ban in March 2018, which means that 45 Sundays will be excluded from trade in 2020. However, this ban does not apply to online retailers.

Financial outlook for the e-commerce market in Poland

Poland is one of the fastest-growing markets among Central and Eastern European countries. The country is developing both economically and socially. The population is getting wealthier, and the gap between wages in Western and Eastern Europe is slowly but systematically decreasing. This situation increases purchasing power, which favors increased demand. Therefore by 2027, revenues from the e-commerce market will amount to almost 25 million dollars, a 188 percent increase in profits from e-commerce activities in Poland compared to 2017.
