During the weeks prior to the state of alarm decreed by the Pedro Sánchez Government on March 14, 2020, Spanish families had already started to stock up, purchasing products in mass. In this period, also known as the "bunker phase", basic commodities, canned foods and drugstore products were the most popular. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that powdered milk experienced an increase in demand of 173.3 percent.
