The fast-moving consumer goods sector in India contributed the highest expenditure towards the advertising industry in 2023 which grossed over 314 billion Indian rupees. The e-commerce and the consumer durables sectors retained their positions among the top three contributors that year. It was also worth noting that ad spending by the government amounted to roughly 40 billion rupees with the general elections looming ahead.
