Comparing countries and tracking trends
Two of the most useful things you can do in Consumer Insights is compare countries and track trends over time.
Here's how you do both.
Country comparison
To compare the same question across multiple markets:
- Run your analysis in one country first.
- On your result, click the Compare button in the top right of the card.
- Make sure Country / Territory is in the left column position. If Year is on the left, click the swap icon between the two columns to switch them.
- Click Edit on the Country / Territory column to add additional countries.
You'll get a single table showing responses for each country side by side. This works especially well for brand awareness and usage questions where regional differences matter.
Year-over-year trend analysis
To see how responses have changed year over year:
- Set up your analysis as normal.
- On your result, click the Compare button in the top right of the card.
- Make sure Year is in the left column position. If Country is on the left, click the swap icon between the two columns to switch them.
- Click Edit on the Year column to add additional survey waves.
The tool will display results as a time series, so you can see how percentages have shifted over time.
Which survey should I use? The Pulse survey is best for tracking attitudes and macro trends over time. For behavioral change, use the Global Survey.
