FAQs
Why can't I find data for my country?
The Global Survey covers 30+ countries, but not every country is available for every topic. Coverage varies by survey wave and module.
Try searching for your country in the country selector. If it doesn't appear, it's not covered in that module. The Survey Library may have more specific regional coverage for certain industries.

How current is the data?
Survey data is updated multiple times per year. The most recent wave is shown by default.
To see when a specific dataset was surveyed or last updated, check the survey time period and upload date shown within View survey methodology below the country and update selection.
New data releases are listed on the Consumer Insights release calendar.

Can I compare results across different years?
Yes. Use the Compare button on the top right of a question in list view. Make sure that Year is in the columns, then click the Edit button to select multiple survey waves. The tool will display results as a time series.
Not all questions have been asked in every wave. If you try to add a wave that not contain data for a question, the tool will notify you that the selected data is not yet available.

What's the difference between the Global Survey and Pulse?
The Global Survey covers concrete behaviors and product usage: what people buy, which brands they use, how often they do X.
Pulse focuses on attitudes, values, and motivations: why people make certain choices, how they feel about broader societal trends.
For most brand and audience research, start with the Global Survey. Use Pulse when you need to understand the reasoning or mindset behind behaviors.

I can't find a brand I'm looking for. What should I do?
Brand KPI data covers 15,000+ brands, but it doesn't cover every brand in every market. Smaller or more regional brands may not be included.
Search by the brand's parent company name or check if it's listed under a different product category.
If the brand isn't available, contact your account manager or reach out via the Help Center. If the brand isn't available, let your account manager know. You can request it be added to the wish list for future survey waves.
The same goes for all survey modules—you can submit question recommendations for future waves via your account manager.

The sample size for my target group looks very small. Should I still use this data?
Pay attention to the n= figure shown in the results. As a rough guide, results based on fewer than 100 respondents should be treated as directional only, not statistically reliable.
To increase your sample size, try broadening your target group filters, or removing some demographic restrictions.
If you're consistently hitting small samples for a specific market or audience, it may mean that segment is underrepresented in the survey. Reach out to your account manager.

I'm receiving an error that there is an invalid combination. What does this mean and how do I fix it?
You've combined questions from different survey topics that were not surveyed together and can't be cross-tabbed with each other. Remove one of the variables or switch to a demographic column variable instead.
Can I save my analysis or come back to it later?
Each analysis you build generates a unique URL that you can bookmark in your browser or share with anyone else who has access to Consumer Insights. This means you can return to your exact analysis at any time without needing to rebuild it from scratch.
